The TC-Helicon VoiceLive 2 is one of the leading voice effect and harmonizer boxes you can get. However, I find that it isn't suitable for all types of music. I myself play rock, pop and folk in the vain of The Beatles and Neil Young and I found that the harmonizer really didn't work that well for me. The harmony voices are all edited from one voice, which leaves them not sounding very natural (or at least in an organic and loose 60's/70's way). Then again, for more modern music (especially computer made) I think this would work. The quality of the product itself is very, very good and apart from the over 200 differnt vocal effects, you can modify and save your very own ones. The effect box is real sturdy and will withstand stomping the buttons with your foot.
A cool plus is that TC-Helicon keeps on developing its products with add-ons and updates that are available for free via USB connection. My VoiceLive 2 came with a pretty good looper already installed (Vloop), which is my favourite of the add-ons.
What a great & FUN gizmo. Have been playing with all the amazing presets and editing them to my tastes for a short while - I'm most impressed. Used it once already on live stage and sounded awesome. It has so many features and settings that it will take a little reading to grasp it all but I really did not find it all that difficult. The customer support (Craig) is a most helpful and friendly guy. Finally the Thomann Kit bag is quite good (I now have 2) - have not yet used (or needed) the the bundled volume pedal. All in all - Highly recommended.!
