If looking for a modern day 808 and 909 in a box, look no further. The TR-8 is intuitive to use - just as well as the manual is a folded sheet of paper - and sounds great. I had mine up, running and recording in half and hour. True to its predecessors, its not the most versatile of units but for accessible, classic drumbox sounds, it "does what it says on the tin". Further exploration, especially when connected by USB which I haven't yet done, may reveal more but even as is, I'm very happy with my TR-8.
liked the management and execution of all controls. You can change the color LED Backlight (five different color scheme). is synchronized to MIDI to other devices ... the opportunity to step recording. one drawback, it is impossible to record the rotation of knobs and faders (it is possible to connect the input and dispense with the mixer if you have a synthesizer, you can connect it to the input and hear sound simultaneously tr8 and connected synthesizer) and scatter function also works with the input signal. .. so many possible variations of each sound (you can achieve excellent and interesting sound) in general, I recommend to people looking for the sound of classic 808 and 909 models ... for a reasonable price.
