The bag is a thick canvas-like material similar to guitar gig bags.
Not shown in the pictures is a small cubic foam insert with two holes, which you slide over the pins of the satellite - a very useful piece indeed. This helps the speaker sit snug in the bag and protects the pins from undue stress during handling and transportation. Do look out for it - one of the two bags I bought arrived without the insert. Thomann sent one to me right away at no additional cost.
The shoulder strap is a good idea but not really comfortable to use because of the asymmetrical weight distribution of the column speaker. Also for this reason the hand straps placement could be better - preferably over the centre of gravity of the column speaker.
I ordered this as part of the Maui 11 Mix bundle. Inside the bag is a black foam protector to place on the end of the Maui pole. The bag is a tight fit for the pole with this in place and you have to be careful not to damage the stitching at the end of the zip. I found I could slice 10mm off this foam protector and it still provided adequate protection, but allowed the assembly to better fit in the bag. The shoulder strap is very useful, but the hand grip is central on the bag, whereas the weight in the satellite unit is mainly at one end, so using the handle, the bag droops. Perhaps the manufacturers could move the handle to 2/3rds along the bag. As it was included in the bundle price I was happy with the bag, If I was purchasing it separately, I do not think it would be worth the price.
