I was looking for a tenor and this is one of the first that I saw and tried in person. None of the ones I tried later made such a positive impression on me. This beauty's sound is gentler than usual, and its look is absolutely gorgeous. All my fellow musician friends love it, even the ones who are not uke enthusiasts. When connected to an amp it works great and has a lovely sound. It will be perfect both for practicing at home, as it is slightly quieter than the other ukes I play, and also for gigging, I play in a "guitar-only" group and with the amp the ukulele sounds amazing, and finally you can actually hear me play. My only complaints are the lack of a built-in tuner, which would have been extremely handy, and also a strap, and strap button, might have been nice. These are minor lacks, but considering the price, having these features as well would have made the ukulele perfect. And speaking about the price, Thomann's is the best one around for this uke. Plus, the quality of the included gig bag is great. I am extremely happy with my purchase!
PROS: lovely sound(with and without amp), gorgeous looks, great gig bag included
This was an impulse purchase. I did not do as much research into the ukulele as I would normally have done with other equipment that I bought off this website. As such, I had no true idea of what to expect...
On arrival this ukulele looks the business. It comes in a professional looking case that says, "Uke Crazy" on the label.
Holding the ukulele you first notice its weight. It is astoundingly light yet feels like it could take a knock or two.
Playing it is just marvelous. It holds it's tuning right out of the box. The intonation is great and it sounds phenomenal.
I only wish I had bought a strap for it... Definitely going to be on my next order... Actually to be honest, it would have been nice if (for the price) you got a strap with it, or there was an additional strap-nut on it.
Regardless, this is one rather happy ukulele player!
