Kala Bocote Butterfly Tenor - One of the best, for the price.
Very sweet-sounding (sweeter than acacia-made equivalents), excellent playability and gorgeous looks. It serves as a very smart solution, in comparison with the far more expensive solid wood alternatives.
The fretboard is easy to cope with, the instrument stays nicely in tune and the nut as well as the bridge are of good quality.
The integrated preamp is certainly a plus, making the instrument very easy to handle in live performances, while the sound produced through a decent acoustic preamp/DI box connected to a console, is truly open and captivating.
The instrument easily stands out and shows its class over cheaper ukuleles. To get an even better one, I guess I would have to deal with a triple price tag, which is highly unlikely, for the moment. The Bocote Butterfly Tenor was an excellent choice and it comes highly recommended.
