I have used this highly portable and tiny bass at shows where the stage is not big enough for an upright or even a electric bass. Great fun all the way.
The bass came with som small problems. First of all the pickup in the bridge didn?t repond to the E-string. Output was way lower than the other strings. After dismountig, checking and some wiggeling it sounded better. Note that the bridge is highly sensitive, and the slightest wiggle might affect the output.
Second, the E-string itself was dead. The black Pahoehoe string may have been damaged in some way. Changed to Aquila thunder reds, And that solved the problem (Thanks, Thomann!)
Now that all the issues are solved, the U Bass is in fine condition and plays like butter. Nice craftmanship and a good preamp. Very silent. Intonation is good. Takes some time to get used to the short neck.
Very fun and highly playable instrument which is so easy to carry around. Some think this is som kind of toy... Think again! This is a bass as good as any. This is a "must have" instrument.
