Good strings for fretless bass with uncoated fingerboard
Nice sounding strings. Somewhere in between round wound and flat wound, leaning more against the first. Produces a nice "edge". Very smooth on the left hand.
I put these strings on an Ibanez GWB with ebony fingerboard, leaving the B string from an older set.
The good thing about these strings is that they don?t eat wood. They are very gentle on the fingerboard and do not leave any dents. The fingerboard will consequently have a longer life.
On the picky side, these strings are very stiff compared to others of the same sizes. In fact, the factory should have provided a wider package as two of the strings were bent a bit when they put the strings in the envelope. This causes some small buzz in different positions. Had to increase string height a bit.
Anyway - these are good sounding strings and worth the money.
