I use these paired with two emg humbuckers, these strings really cut through are nice to play and have a great dynamic range. The price tag may be higher than your usual strings, but so is the quality. My experience is that they last longer, and keep their high output as well. And if you clean/sweep them after use they will feel new for sometime. Great packaginga and solid craftsmanship.
I like to try different string gauges and brands but I always end up back at Ernie Balls.....and it's usually the slinkys I go for. I recently bought these as I play SKA music (lots of hard chops) on my Telecaster and I wanted a bit more "volume" when jumping into lead parts without having to fuss around with controls. That said, I reckoned the Skinny Top/Heavy Bottom would be ideal for my type of playing.
These strings certainly delivered, not only that, I never managed to break any of them! The only thing I had to struggle with was string bending due to the heavier gauge but I soon toughened up the fingertips to compensate. I also noticed they keep their tone longer than other strings, which is great because....who wants to spend time changing strings!
I'm very happy with these and (sorry Fender) have ditched the bullets as I keep breaking them. I will also be trying them on my Les Paul just to see how they fair over burstbuckers.
Give your playing a boost and try these out, I don't think you will be disappointed !!
