Very great sound!
Anonym 21.07.2016
I bought this set for my Mexican Fender Roadhouse Strat, because I am a big fan of Steve Lukather.

Putting it in the guitar was a breeze! So easy and it fit like a glove, and one of the features that sealed the deal for me, solderless connections!

When I put the whole thing together and plugged it in to my amp, I noticed right away a huge difference in not only tone, but also overall volume. They were louder, but not ear-deafening.

The only gripe I had, was a significant difference in volume between the humbucker and the single-coil pickups, but that's a matter of taste I suppose...

However, I would recommend this set to anyone who wants to beef up their guitar's sound or get closer to Luke's sound.

I?ve always been a fan of the 80's
Cordtz 14.03.2020
Most of my favourite guitar sounds has come from 80's music. Luke has been one of the biggest influences on me so naturally I wanted to try out these EMG's. I installed them in a american standard Strat.

The first word that comes to mind --> versatility!

You can go from a humbucking fire breathing dragon to a bluesy stratty kinda sound in no time at all... and everything in between. Luke was a session guitarist and therefore needed versatility.

"But EMG's don't sound good. They make every guitar sound generic." No they don't. They might not be your thing, but they are definitely not generic. Granted - they have their own flavour, but it's a flavour I really like. Ohh - and they are dead silent!

The only tiny complaint I have is that the 5 way switch couldn't go fully up in the neck position so I had to cut a bit in the pickguard, but hey that took like 5 seconds.

They are great for recordings. They are great for live usage. I cannot recommend them enough. If you're curious then try them out.

Bedste beslutning!

Great investment for a cheap guitar
Sisa 31.12.2017
Bought this Pickup Set around 5 years ago for my Bullet strat (cheapest squier there is) and it transformed a nice playable guitar with mediocre pickups at best into a great guitar with awesome sound.

Versatility showed when i switched bands from a Rock band to Black metal and then even to an old school Death metal band. The only thing that changed was the tunning and the string thickness. On the E standard an D tunning humbucker gives a clear rich sound, and when you drop the tunning to B its just a insane greasy sound, which is probably not for everyone but it was music to ears for me. The only thing I did on the B tunning was to shut the Tone Knob completely and it gave just enough treble to make things work.

The humbucker has a rich gainy sound with much to play with, but i didn't like it too much on clean. On the contrary the single coils don't like distortion much but they begin to shine once you witch to a clean or crunch channel.

The assembly is extremely easy, all the cables have connectors so no soldering is required.
Modifications on the guitar (Bullet strat) I needed to do:
- Hole for the Battery
- Wider hole for the cables that lead to the input
- Deeper hole for the Switch which is bigger by a margin compared to the stock one

Other big plus with this pickup set its very easy to switch guitars. It took me less than 30min to move it from bullet to my affinity squier (only body modification is wider hole for the cable of the input and fore the battery, hole under the switch is just enough deep). Didn't even need to remove the strings. Again the improvement was insane
