This is a nice distortion pedal if you want an alternative to the more mainline Bass Big Muff Pi. It has a much different sound to the BBM Pi. I can get wooly and creamy tones out of this pedal. The 'Drive' mode adds a bit of grit to the original bass tone and if that's not enough, switch to 'Fuzz' for a full-on fuzzy distortion. This pedal also works great with a guitar, can get very heavy distortion with it. 4/5
I went for this because the metallic/glassy tone of the Boss ODB (copied by Behringer and others) isn't my cup of tea, and I already have the Big Muff and the Fuzz Face ranges covered. Glad I did! The controls provide a range that's exactly right, and both "fuzz" and "drive" modes sound usable enough, but I assume that may not be the case if your pickup isn't hot enough, etc.
My Blogger works fine when powered on a "daisychain" splitter with other pedals, which apparently has been a problem with earlier revisions of the Bass Blogger. The included battery was well expired, so be sure to remove it to avoid possible leakage over time.
The Blogger worked well in combination with other fuzz pedals I tried, adding more body, and adjusting the frequency range as more suited for bass. Unfortunately, the pedal wasn't particularly interesting with guitar as I had hoped. Though that's not the point, of course!
