I tested almost every Cympad thickness version, and these ones are my favourites. The 8s are maybe too thin, the 12s would be great, but under heavy cymbals, I like these more. I use 19" crashes mostly, and 18-19" chinas, so... 12s would have done the job, but 15s are preferred. Of course, the lenght of your cymbal rods will determine if these will prove too thick or not, but I put these under the cymbals almost every time. On top, I sometimes use a 12 only, just to give the cymbal some wiggle-room. Can be a pain to find them in a dark stage, but I still hate to use any other color than black. No idea why. I have used these before on other drums too, so I can confirm that even after 1 or 2 years, they retain their shape and quality. Cymbal felts are the past, use these!
