Bugera 212TS - Great Gritty 2 x 12" for a very affordable price
I bought these cabinets a few weeks ago to run side by the original 212v-BK that I own. The difference in the two types of cab are very obvious once you have sound coming out of the cabs. I have 2 x 2x12" 212TS and also two 2x12" 212V-BK. I run Crate power blocks through each stack and they sound awesome.
The 212TS is a lot grittier, more like a marshall cabinet if I am honest. The new Turbo Sound speakers deliver a lot more presence compared to the 212v-BK Bugera loaded cab.
I like this new sound, however depending on yor equipment it can get to harsh on the hi end too soon so eq will be a must. The bottom end is tight and a really hard punch can be felt and heard from the 212TS.
They look nearly the same as the 212V-BK however they are a slightly different shade of silver/grey speaker cloth and have little badges denoting that TurboSound Speakers are loaded inside. The look Gorgeous. Like the 212V-bk though the tolex will not last forever, but for the price little repairs in this from time to time will not bother me.
I mainly care about the sound and construction of these cabs. For me the construction is top notch, sturdy cab that can take a great deal of lugging about on the road. The sound is clear and crisp, very hi fi in my opinion in regards to quality. Detail comes through really well.
I play heavy metal music myself however lI know these cabs could be used for country to blues hard rock and metal making them very versatile.
I think I prefer the older 212V-BK but for the 212TS is another quality product from Bugera and is easily suitable for pros or amateurs. For the money these can't be beaten!!!
