I had one of those, 'Back to the Future,' moments with this one. My 40w Stagg combo was only set at 1 but when I plugged in my Fender CP-100 parlor fitted with this unit, the sound of an ocean liner's foghorn filled the room. I had to replace the speaker and relegate the guitar to recording mode only. Fitting the unit was simple if you are brave enough to drill a hole in the tail block. The volume control sticks unobtrusively under the edge of the soundhole. There is also a battery holder which I had to re-glue as the sticky pad supplied dried out after a few weeks. As the unit had failed to live up to my expectations I ripped it out and installed it in a Hofner hf12 classical which I never use for live work. This proved much more successful and gives a well balanced sound somewhat brighter than the acoustic sound of the instrument. So like all good tales we have happy ending!
These are good sounding products. I have insalled several on low and medium price quitars. If need to have a well sounding pick up, this is an exellent choise. You can not talk of features, only volume. But even a poor sounding guitar can be used after this. I have used some piezzo pick ups in the past, but when found this, there has never been complains of the sound quality. Recommend!!
