I'm a lover of 10" speakers for bass. I have a Carlsbro old 2 x 10" combo, a 4 x10" cab and when I needed louder, I bought a new amp and matched it to this cab. I'd used a hired in 8 x10" big ticket price cab, and then saw this Ashdown. The weight worried me - it's over 60Kg, but it has two rear mounted wheels, and handles so you can move it easily like using a sack barrow. I have a vivaro van, with a aluminium ramp, and can easily load and unload myself. Lifting it up stairs onto festival stages needs two people, but it's simple with two.
I use the speakon connector, but it has jack too.
What I do not like is that the cabinet covering is a little soft, and manouevering it around has caused quite a few gashes on the bottom front edge, that are now reinforced with gaffer tape to protect it from getting worse. I can live with this, as I caused it myself. Tilting it backwards is fine, onto the wheels, but if you tilt it forward to 'walk' it along, you run the chance of the material, which is a softish vinyl type touching the ground - and if you then heave and swivel, you rip it.
Sound wise, it's quite neutral before eq - plenty of top end, but the bottom B really travels and can rattle things. It isn't boomy as some big cabs are. I like it a lot!
