Artist Ahead Musikvelag, E-Bass Praxis, From the chord symbol for the perfect bass line,by Tom Bornemann, Learn to play your e-bass in the band ! With CD,in notation, tabulature and chords, German language
First - I play some years now, i had some gigs but I had no luck with real-life teachers! They have cost me a lot of money and taught me a lick here a little music theory there, but no one could answer my question - how can I learn to groove with a band? If they would, I wouldn´t need them so why should they...
This is what this book does, how to work with a leadsheet, how to play to the drums. What does the snare do? What´s the function of the hi-hat, how do I build basslines from nothing...how do I improve those basic lines to be a really outstanding Bass-zilla on Stage!
I used some other bassbooks and the first time I can say for sure - you are not going to be bored with hundreds of pages with licks and scales you dont know why the heck you practise it, and when you play at a jam, nothing will fit in real music. The book is pretty straight foreward, you find everything you need to know, and even the complicated stuff is well writen, so you can really UNDERSTAND!
The CD-playalongs are good quality and you get leadsheets to them so you can practise to build your own basslines and get them groovy with the knowledge of this book.
