These plugs are similar to the venerable Neutrik NC3-FXX connectors, but less expensive. They fit other connectors very well, and are relatively easy to solder and assemble, but do have some downsides if you plan to use non-standard sized cables or multiple small wires for custom setups. The plastic part squeezing the cable is of a very hard, brittle plastic, compared to Neutrik's more flexible part. Cutting that part back for a super-fat cable can lead to crumbles breaking off beyond the intended amount. For going to the limits, spend the extra cash. Also, the plastic over-jacket can slide back/slightly twist when tightening/untightening the connector more than once or very hard. But that is only an minor thing.
I you don't want to go with the neutrik, get this one. Anything cheaper than this is a frustration to work with.
