This I feel is a good product, but perhaps not great. Decent price, and decent sound for the money spent - but I've had better.
The electromagnet is not very strong so there isn't great volume to it; and I've bought pick ups for the same price which give more.
The sound isn't bad, but nothing to go nuts for - it's good value for money. I suppose I'm biased since I like my pick ups to have a bit of grit in the sound - this one's quite clean and clear, which will work for some.
Some good things. The USB cable is very handy for recording and the pickup (including wires) are quite resilient.
when i bought this pickup i did not expect much and i have not been surprised. when i first put it on my yamaha i liked the looks and the fact that it was steady in place. unfortunately, the cable broke somewhere after playing for a short while and it does not work anymore. the output is not really high and the pickup does not reproduce the sound of the guitar in detail. i though it was a good idea to have a jack on the end of the cable with the option to adapt it to the strap button but as it is quite difficult to insert a cable, i think this might be the breaking point of the cable. i will try to fix it and see how it sounds in detail later. a good thing is that it comes with a cable that allows you to connect your guitar to a usb port. i use it for playing rocksmith.
