My AKG K702 headphones have been my favorite headphones the past four years, because they have a nice wide soundstage and a nice treble sound which both sounds great with strings and other high frequency sounds but to me they are also very inspiring to use when I browser through my synthesizer presets. I have also a pair of Sennheiser HD650 which are more expensive, but to me those are not inspiring to listen to and the treble is too low to my ears. I wear my AKG K702 several hours a day without headache either. Much better that AKG K701 (which hurt the top of my bald head).
AKG K702 doesn't have much lowend bass below 100hz like Sennheiser HD650, but they have enough for listening to any kind of music that does use subwoofer area sounds much. Probably not great for hiphop/rap. I produce with AKG K702 and Sonarworks Reference 3 because I know how well mixed music should sound on these headphones, but its difficult to measure the amount of low frequencies, and that is why I also have Sennheiser HD650 because HD650 have a nice low frequency response. I could write a lot more here, but you get the idea.
