Initially I thought why would anyone need to review a power supply? All it needs to do is power the effects unit, which in this case is the mighty Aguilar Tone Hammer.
Well does it? Yes it powers the Tone Hammer admirably. No need to worry about the 2 9v batteries running out. So in that respect a solid 5/5.
So why the 3/5? Well the build quality isn't great which is a disappointment when comparing it to the excellent build quality of the rest of the Aguilar range. My biggest gripe however was only discovered after about 6 months of using it.
The socket adapter system just isn't very robust. I'm using the UK adapter and on more than 1 instance I've removed the power supply, but managed to leave the adapter in the socket. On one occasion this caused me to have to drive back to the gig venue the next day to look for the adapter. It's happened several times since and I'm having to double check the sockets after I've removed the power supply.
It's an essential bit of kit, but its a shame that there is such a big flaw.
This is only usable with the aguilar tone hammer I think as most other aguilar pedals run on a different voltage. It's light and fits well on my pedal board. I've had no problems with this yet and used it extensively as I prefer power supply over phanthom power on pedals. It's expensive but a must have for the tonehammer pedal imo
