I bought this as a 4th Tom for my 2box Drumitfive kit to tamk maximum advantage of the 4 tom outputs provided by the 2Box Brain. So I knew exactly what I was buying and in fact it appears that its only Thomann where you can gat 2box add-ons and accessories. For those who dont know this pad features an cast aluminium base unit with mesh head which sits on a sponge cushion and theres a trigger unit that is housed between the cushion and mesh head.. The head fits on like a trad skin on any drum but it is a bit fiddly to put the rim / hoop on top.HIts to the rim are triggered separately from the head and you can asign different sounds to the rim and the head. ie I use a cowbell sound on the rim of one of my toms. It looks different than other mesh headed pads - not jest because of the striking and unique orange colour but you wll see that on top of the unit there is an oblomng organge plate about 3ins x 2ins which features the 2Box logo. This is not just for appearences. Under this is housed both the triggering mechanism and the mechanism for attacging the tom to the tom holder. 2Box dont use round rods for pad attachments. Theirs are hexagonal and the pads sit on top of the rod and are then tightened up. Unlike say Roland and Alesis, you cant slide the pads up and down the shaft of the holder it had to sit on top. This does make it a bit tricker to place the pads where you want .. however, the tom holder HAS a ball and socket device and the unit can be rotated around the rack tube so you CAN put the pads where you want... it justy needs more fiddling about with. While to like the pads and the 2Box styling I do think that by not making these pads compatible with other e-drum manufacturers pad holders than they are missing additional sales to non-2Box users.
