First of all, I would like to thank Thomann personal, they are doing an amazing job and their care for the customers is unmatched.
I bought this needle to mount it on my Concorde system on my Technics 1200 turntable, mainly for listening purposes.
The needle came with the cantilever misaligned (>10deg), just like most other Ortofon needles I bought in the past. After replacement, the new needle had the cantilever misaligned too, in the opposite direction though. The problem is that with a Concorde body one cannot compensate cantilever misalignment, so the sound reproduction is condamned to be sub-optimal. All the DJ needles and some of the audiophile needles I bought from Ortofon had the cantilever misaligned or, worse, twisted on its axis.
I understand that these are cheap systems, but the problem in my opinion lies in the suspension technology that Ortofon uses on most of their needles. Both damping AND suspension are provided by a non-durable rubber cylinder and nothing keeps the cantilever from twisting besides the friction of this rubber cylinder on the cantilever itself.
I am sorry but I had too many bad experiences with Ortofon, this will be the last system I buy from them.
