Everything I was looking for!
powergp 17.02.2022
I always loved the tele sound, but was an Ibanez player, so was discouraged from ever purchasing a fender. I was going to try and piece together my own one, but seen Ibanez had released the AZS2209H. I fell in love with the tri-fade burst and pick-guard and had never even played the guitar, but knew I could trust the prestige models. I bought it, and would spend hours just polishing it after every play and sitting in awe at the paint job, and the beautiful piece of ash chosen underneath. The S-Tech roasted maple neck is also beautiful and amazing to play, thick and slim in just the right places which makes it difficult to put down, complimented by the finely trimmed stainless steel frets. The variety of tones with the switching of the pickups, and inclusion of the mini-humbucker also gives it different tones from a tele, which was a great addition. I am very glad that I didn't go with the fender, or try to make one up as I would never have found this beauty, and could not have done such a good job making one myself at the price that was on offer. Plus I could never have had anything that resembles that neck, which after a few months of playing, doesn't come close to any of my other guitars, and I get to have the wizard headstock which I am so used to.
I did need to adjust it slightly to my own action preferences, but what better way to get to know it, and had some issues with the pickup selector coming in the way of my strum and knocking it from the neck position, but you can learn to work around that, or else just 'cobain' the selector in position if you want to 'rock-out' in the neck or mid-position, though I mostly bought it for the bridge so it has never bothered me in the slightest.
Awesome guitar and truly delighted with my purchase, which was well packed and delivered to me in a timely fashion.
Thank you Ibanez, and thank you thomann!
