Satisfied with the choice
msamprz 30.12.2021
I had been looking for my first baritone guitar for a few months, reading and watching a lot of reviews, and ultimately decided that the Gretsch G5260 Baritone was the one for me. I've had the guitar for roughly 6 months now.

After purchase, I noticed a few things:
- Build quality is really nice. The colour is amazing. The fretboard is easy to navigate, and the frets are nicely rounded to avoid having your finger cut on the edges.
- The fret spaces are really wide, so I hope you have long or stretchy fingers.
- Due to the Les Paul style, it can be a bit of an adjustment to playing the frets >16th if you're using to gripping the neck in your fist, as you have to flatten your hand when you want to play in the cutout.
- Sustains are amazing on this guitar. This is more a function of baritones, but this guitar does it really well too.
- It stays in tune for a really long time (I mainly play it in the original B standard).
- The action came in relatively high, and lowering the saddle was easy enough, but then needed a re-setup (naturally).
- The saddle height can be adjusted individually for each string, and also all together too.
- The bridge unfortunately cannot be adjusted per string, but only all together (or I haven't figured it out because I'm incompetent).
- Original setup out of the box was ok.
- This guitar sounds very dark.
- The guitar is heavy, I enjoy it, but some people will not. There is also almost no neck dive, but I have a really good strap for it, so there's a lot of friction and it barely moves.
- I don't think you're supposed to do this, but sometimes in a pinch, I tune it down to bass and play with it as a bass ;)

All in all, I'm definitely satisfied with the purchase because it makes me feel that the role that I got this guitar for is fulfilled.
