We use it a lot in our music venue to highlight performers onstage. We have quite a low ceiling above the stage and as such the 40' beam angle is a little narrow (-I should have bought more of them!) so I've added a frosting gel to it which expands and softens the boundaries, it also diffuses the beam and helps a bit to blend the individual LED colours usefully. The colours can be strong, but with our low ceiling, the light is not far away, and at greater distances the light is less intense. If you dimm the unit it does tend to strobe a bit (-a good effect on drummers!) but that's budget LED's for you!
The LED's don't get hot and that helps keep temperatures managable onstage.
We bought this unit over 18 months ago and it's been controlled via DMX since day 1, it gets taken down at least once a month (to be replaced by a blinder light unit) and so far it's never been a problem. The build quality of some of Eurolites past products have been an issue, but not with this one. It's still in as good a shape as the day we bought it (except dustier!).
Great as a stand-alone unit, output is very good the Amber is acceptable and it comes with many features. The bar is also split into four sections so enhancing the effect. In my opinion i would say each section was equivalent to about 100 to 150 watts. All colours up it make a good audience blinder. Sound to light, strobe's and fades are good too. They are very long and prone to being drooped, this needs to be avoided as led's will go out and technical glitches start to appear. They have no flicker problems at lower output's unlike some cheaper units. If looked after with care a very good extremely bright unit
