Amazing MIDI keyboard!

Over the past year, I used this product exclusively for music composition.
It is very sturdy and comfortable to use. Since it's much flatter than a regular piano keyboard, playing it takes a while to get used to but it becomes very enjoyable with the new dimensions of playing possibilities. At max sensitivity, it can be difficult to play quickly without making micro-tonal mistakes, but the 3 faders on the left can be set to the desired amount of sensitivity for pitch, length-wise modulation (i.e sliding up and down a single key to change the timbre), and aftertouch sensitivity. You can also switch the faders to MIDI mode and assign any MIDI CC to the faders and touchpad (one CC for each axis).
The synthesizer software that comes with the Seaboard, "Equator" is worth half the price. It comes with hundreds of amazing-sounding presets (from synths to acoustic samples to sound design) and is completely modular. You can alter any of the parameters and have them be modulated by others to create your own unique sounds and instruments.
The Seaboard's primary features are mainly to be used with Equator, but with some audio programming you can get the sensors to work with things like Kontakt. Note that you can also set it to run in single MIDI channel mode which makes it function like a standard MIDI keyboard.
There are only two reasons why I gave 4 stars instead of 5:
1) When in single MIDI channel mode you have to manually select the channel through provided software instead of being able to push a button to do so. This wastes a bit of time when dealing with multi-channel routed virtual instruments.
2) After 11 months my Seaboard began malfunctioning (constantly switching on and off) and I had to get a replacement.
Overall, great product and software. I just hope my new one will last longer.

A controller that offers MIDI Polyphonic Expression certainly is the way to go to get the most realistic feel when composing and Roli has done magic with it! Since the first time I saw it in MOMA I new that some day I had to have one. The Seaboard feels amazing and extremely responsive. Highly recommend it
