Op het eerste gezicht lijkt de achterkant van een gitaarcabinet misschien niet zo belangrijk \u2013 de speaker zit immers aan de voorkant en straalt het geluid ook naar voren uit. Dus wat heeft de achterkant van de speakerkast met de klank te maken? Heel veel, vooral als het gaat om hoe de cab in de ruimte klinkt. Je raadt het al: het heeft te maken met de voortplanting van geluidsgolven en verschillende frequentie-uitdovingen. Maar geen zorgen, we houden het niet t\u00e9 technisch.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><strong>Gesloten vs. open gitaar speakerkasten<\/strong> <strong>\u2013 Kort uitgelegd<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Closed back:<\/strong> de gitaarcab is aan de achterkant volledig gesloten<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Open back:<\/strong> de gitaarcab heeft een opening aan de achterkant<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Closed back:<\/strong> krachtig geluid met strakkere bassen en een duidelijke afstraalhoek<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Open Back:<\/strong> voller geluid in de ruimte, bredere spreiding en een lichte afname van de hoge tonen<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><strong>Hoe is een gitaar speakerkast opgebouwd?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Een gitaarcabinet, of kortweg gitaarcab, is een luidsprekerkast die is geoptimaliseerd voor gitaargeluid en is uitgerust met \u00e9\u00e9n of meerdere specifieke gitaarspeakers. De constructie is vrij eenvoudig: een houten kast met vier zijpanelen, een achterpaneel en een voorpaneel waarin de gitaarspeaker is gemonteerd. Meestal wordt het voorpaneel beschermd door een grille of een laag akoestisch transparante stof. Maar ook andere onderdelen dragen bij aan de klank:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><strong>Aantal speakers<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Gitaarcabs zijn doorgaans verkrijgbaar met \u00e9\u00e9n, twee of vier speakers. Als vuistregel geldt: hoe meer speakers, hoe &#8220;voller&#8221; het geluid. Uiteraard speelt ook de grootte (diameter) van de speakers een rol. Ook hier geldt in het algemeen: hoe groter de speaker, hoe krachtiger het geluid. Gitaarcabs zijn meestal uitgerust met 12-inch speakers, maar er zijn ook modellen met 10-inch- of 8-inch-speakers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><strong>Houtsoort en materiaaldikte<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Met materiaaldikte wordt de dikte bedoeld van het hout dat wordt gebruikt voor de zij- en achterpanelen. Een speaker genereert trillingen. Idealiter resoneert het hout van de kast mee met de speaker en versterkt het deze trillingen. De meeste gitaarcabs zijn gemaakt van duurzaam multiplex; de industriestandaard is 18 millimeter berkenmultiplex. Dit hout resoneert beter, vooral bij gesloten cabs. Het is belangrijk dat er geen lucht tussen de houtlagen zit, zodat de kast niet gaat rammelen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>\ud83d\udc49 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thomann.de\/intl\/cat_GK_gieag4.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bekijk 4&#215;12-gitaarcabs<\/a> \ud83d\udc48<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading has-text-align-center\"><strong>Gesloten gitaar speakerkast: kenmerken en klank<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bij een gesloten cabinet wordt al het geluid naar voren &#8220;geduwd&#8221;, omdat het de kast nergens anders kan verlaten. Daardoor klinkt dit type gitaarcab zeer gefocust en bereikt het geluid de luisteraar direct. De bassen zijn strak, krachtig en goed gedefinieerd, terwijl ook de middentonen iets nadrukkelijker aanwezig zijn. Dit type cab is ideaal om je binnen een band goed hoorbaar te maken. De meeste 4&#215;12-cabs zijn uitgevoerd met een gesloten achterkant. klank<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Een open back-gitaarcab heeft een opening in het achterpaneel. De meeste open back-cabs hebben een gedeeltelijk achterpaneel aan de boven- en onderkant, waarbij zich in \u00e9\u00e9n van de panelen ook de aansluitingen bevinden. Daartussen zit een opening waardoor je de speaker(s) kunt zien. Afhankelijk van de grootte van deze opening ontsnapt er meer of minder geluid naar de achterkant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Hierdoor neemt de geluidsdruk aan de voorkant af en klinkt het geluid opener en minder gefocust. Simpel gezegd: een gesloten cab stuurt een gerichte bundel geluid naar voren, terwijl een open back-cab eerder een geluidswolk rondom de kast cre\u00ebert. Het geluid wordt over een groter deel van de ruimte verspreid, omdat het ook naar achteren wordt uitgestraald.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Vergeet niet: plaats je een open back-cab direct tegen een muur, dan is die geluidswolk kleiner dan wanneer de cab iets verder van de muur staat en het geluid zich beter door de ruimte kan verspreiden. De klank is wat warmer, met een lichte afname van de hoge tonen. Dat komt door frequentie-uitdoving: het geluid verlaat de kast zowel aan de voorkant (de voorwaartse beweging van de speaker) als aan de achterkant (de achterwaartse beweging van de speaker). Speel je graag in drop-tunings en gebruik je veel high-gain, dan biedt een closed back-gitaarcab meestal meer punch en druk op het podium. Bij opnames of wanneer de speaker van dichtbij wordt afgenomen met een microfoon is het verschil tussen open back en closed back minder groot, al blijft het hoorbaar.
