Un modo di fare le cose in maniera <strong>semplice<\/strong>? Un genere? Si riferisce alle <strong>sonorit\u00e0<\/strong>? All&#8217;auto-<strong>produzione<\/strong>? \u00c8 iniziata come una cosa ed \u00e8 diventata tutt&#8217;altro? Oggi ci occuperemo dell&#8217;indie nella sua connotazione pi\u00f9 classica: il sound\/genere creato dalle band americane dagli anni &#8217;80 in poi che gravitavano attorno ad etichette indipendenti capaci di dare popolarit\u00e0 ai propri artisti. Bands come i <strong>Pavement<\/strong>, i <strong>Sonic<\/strong> <strong>Youth<\/strong>, i <strong>Dinosaur<\/strong> <strong>Jr.<\/strong>, <strong>Yo La Tengo<\/strong>, <strong>The Pixies<\/strong>. <strong>Melodie<\/strong> e sentimenti naive <strong>lo-fi,<\/strong> <strong>distorsione<\/strong>, velocit\u00e0, fierezza. Detto ci\u00f2, \u00e8 facile che generino <strong>feedback<\/strong> e <strong>rumore<\/strong> di fondo quando vengono suonati ad alto volume e con molta distorsione. Quando i due single-coil vengono collegati in <strong>serie<\/strong>, il <strong>ronzio<\/strong> sparisce. Il suono cambia, le <strong>frequenze<\/strong> <strong>alte<\/strong> si attenuano e il suono risulta pi\u00f9 medioso e potente. Il sustain cos\u00ec alto creer\u00e0 un vero e proprio <strong>muro<\/strong> di <strong>distorsione<\/strong>. Il <strong>segnale<\/strong> supera la <strong>capacit\u00e0<\/strong> delle valvole e si &#8216;<strong>sporca<\/strong>&#8216;, creando una distorsione <strong>morbida<\/strong> e <strong>cremosa<\/strong>, molto diversa da quella del <strong>fuzz<\/strong> o del <strong>distorsore<\/strong>.
