Our drums and percussion department is gaining new customers at an incredible rate. We think it’s due to an ever growing selection of exciting products, and also a highly professional team of staff. With the increase of drum and percussion products also comes a more regular need to repair, modify or tune them up. That’s why we present to you a short blog article about our Service Centre: Drums & Percussion department at the Thomann headquarters in Treppendorf. Get it fixed!<\/h3>\n

Whether it’s a problem with a cymbal<\/strong>, drum shell<\/strong>, drum<\/strong> hardware<\/strong>, caj\u00f3n<\/strong>, handpan<\/strong>, singing bowl<\/strong>, timpani<\/strong> drum<\/strong>, xylophone<\/strong>, glockenspiel<\/strong>, shaker<\/strong>, electronic<\/strong> drum <\/strong>component, electronic drum pad\u00a0<\/strong>or a\u00a0gong <\/strong>(just to name a few) we are surely willing to help you with our tools<\/strong> and expertise<\/strong>. Keeping sustainability & economy in mind<\/h3>\n

Basically, we are the in-house customer service contacts that receive questions for special cases like a cracked cymbal<\/strong>\u00a0or a malfunctioning e-drum kit module<\/strong>. We supply information on how to ideally solve the problem directly at the customer’s house, before anything else. If an e-drum pad is defective we first try solving it by sending a spare part<\/strong> instead of taking it back, which can be costly<\/strong> and not so ecologically<\/strong> friendly<\/strong>. When absolutely necessary these repairs are mainly done by our in-house electronic<\/strong> workshop<\/strong>, with whom we work in collaboration.<\/p>\n

Tasks at SC Drums & Percussion<\/h3>\n

  • Answering email requests<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Looking through customer videos<\/strong> to identify the issues<\/strong> and find the most fitting solution<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Checking the quality of returned goods<\/strong> in order to store them as B-Stock<\/strong> again (if transport damages occur, we try to solve it in the most economical way)<\/li>\n
  • Solving issues, over the phone, from internal stakeholder such as customer<\/strong> service<\/strong>, logistics<\/strong>, partner<\/strong> management<\/strong>, product<\/strong> management<\/strong>, etc. (as well as external service partners<\/strong> and manufacturers<\/strong>)<\/li>\n
  • Identifying serial issues<\/strong> and trying to prevent those from happening again<\/li>\n
  • Changing<\/strong> drum skins<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Repairing tuning lugs<\/strong> and shells<\/b> (often gluing <\/b>back together)<\/li>\n
  • Cleaning cymbals\u00a0<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Changing drumheads<\/strong> (which are not under warranty)<\/li>\n
  • Testing e-drum modules<\/strong>, cymbals<\/strong>, percussion<\/strong>, classic drums<\/strong> and all for functionality and repairing what is needed (tuning<\/strong>, tightening<\/strong> screws<\/strong>, etc.)<\/li>\n
  • Warranty checks<\/strong> for our own brands (in cooperation with our customer service)<\/li>\n
  • Warranty Checks of all brands<\/strong> (within the drum universe) within the third year of our Thomann Warranty<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
