Correct breathing is one of the basic skills for playing wind instruments. Without relaxed and controlled inhalation and exhalation, you will hardly be able to play melodious notes on the trumpet<\/strong><\/a>, saxophone<\/strong><\/a>, flute<\/strong><\/a>, or any wind instrument. It is best to practice breathing technique without the instrument first. Inhale deeply into your stomach and then – supported by the diaphragm – breathe out evenly. Breath pressure must remain constant. Your instrument then becomes the shaping amplifier of your air column.<\/p>\n
