Ankle socks, hair ribbons, rolled-up jeans, poodle skirts, sloppy sweaters and elements borrowed<strong><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>from French fashion of the time. It was also the decade of <strong>Teen pop<\/strong> fashion, of <strong>Elvis<\/strong> <strong>Presley<\/strong>: the small revolution that preceded the bigger revolution of the <strong>60s<\/strong>: The Beatles.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\">The &#8217;60s: golden standard<\/h2>\n<p>https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=YMr19qBD8EE<\/p>\n<p>The &#8217;60s are commonly associated with 3 main fashion trends: <strong>Hippies<\/strong>, <strong>Mods<\/strong> and&#8230; <strong>Beatles<\/strong>. The influence of the <strong>Fab Four<\/strong> on people&#8217; style was profound and second to none &#8211; as much as their musical <strong>works<\/strong> evolved, so did their <strong>outfits<\/strong> and <strong>impact<\/strong> on the fashion trends of the relative era among teenagers (and adults!).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mods<\/strong>, on the other hand, may be lesser known to younger audiences: it all started in the &#8217;50s, when <strong>Londoners<\/strong> were listening to &#8216;<strong>modernised<\/strong>&#8216; <strong>version<\/strong> of <strong>jazz<\/strong> <strong>music<\/strong> and calling themselves &#8220;modernists&#8221;. Lyrics started to deal with the reality of things, both in a <strong>positive<\/strong> and <strong>negative<\/strong> <strong>connotation<\/strong>, while the <strong>LSD<\/strong>, peyote and <strong>drug<\/strong> <strong>popularity<\/strong> rise contributed to the formation of new sounds. To put that into perspective, <strong>Star<\/strong> <strong>Wars<\/strong> may be one of the <strong>catalysts<\/strong> of the glam rock movement, which is heavily influenced by <strong>Sci-Fi<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>David Bowie, KISS and Gary Glitter<\/strong>: the visual and storytelling part accompanied the musical offering, generating the glam rock genre.
