They&#8217;ve released <strong>2 EPs<\/strong>\u00a0(<strong>Khruangbin<\/strong> and <strong>The Infamous Bill<\/strong>)\u00a0and <strong>2 LPs<\/strong>\u00a0(<a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/album\/2OPcQNLP8DQVumD8kBRAH3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>The Universe Smiles Upon You<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/album\/09AkhNYWocEZWbeYl1YBf7\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Con Todo El Mundo<\/strong><\/a>) among a <strong>half a dozen singles<\/strong>. Since 2011, <strong>Laura Lee<\/strong> (bassist), <strong>Mark Speer<\/strong> (guitarist) and <strong>Donald &#8220;DJ&#8221; Johnson<\/strong> (drums) concoct a unique and warm personal sound. Although most of their music is instrumental, there&#8217;s always a &#8220;voice&#8221; around which everything is structured: Mark Speer&#8217;s <strong>guitar.<\/strong>\u00a0How is he able to get so many sounds out of that <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thomann.de\/gb\/search_dir.html?sw=fender+stratocaster&amp;smcs=594d98_6875&amp;viewMode=block\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Stratocaster<\/a><\/strong>? That&#8217;s precisely what we are here to talk about. Get ready to take notes.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">You&#8217;ve piqued my interest. So how does he play his guitar?<\/h3>\n<p>Well, honestly, he plays like a choir of angels. What this means to you may differ from what it means to me but <a href=\"https:\/\/open.spotify.com\/artist\/2mVVjNmdjXZZDvhgQWiakk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>listen to their recordings<\/strong><\/a> and live videos to get an idea. We&#8217;re going to focus on Speer&#8217;s guitar secrets here, which is no easy task. He\u00a0has emphasised on several occasions that his\u00a0guitar doesn&#8217;t have much history. The American plays a <strong>Fender Stratocaster<\/strong> from the turn of the century, but he claims he could play with any other type of Strat. One of the most emblematic is the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thomann.de\/gb\/fender_stevie_ray_vaughn.htm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Stevie Ray Vaughan Signature model<\/strong><\/a>, designed in <strong>1990<\/strong> by the<br \/>\nblues rock legend.
