When sound looks beautiful, it&#8217;s a paradox on the one hand, and simply brilliant on the other. The question arises: What do sounds actually look like? Which face do frequencies have? How does your head or a banana sound? With Cymatics, frequencies become visible. It is the unity of art, acoustics and science. \u2744?<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: center;\">Fascination from the DIY Department<\/h3>\n<p>The keyword here is\u00a0<strong>cymatics,<\/strong> a term coined by <strong>Swiss<\/strong> philosopher\u00a0<strong>Hans Jenny<\/strong>\u00a0(1904-1972), and comes from the <strong>Greek word<\/strong> for &#8220;<strong>wave<\/strong>&#8220;.\u00a0It&#8217;s related to the <strong>visualization<\/strong> <strong>of sounds<\/strong> and<strong> waves<\/strong>. Imagine you are using a <strong>simple plate,<\/strong> for example made of <strong>glass<\/strong> or <strong>sheet metal<\/strong>. Now evenly sprinkle a fine <strong>powder<\/strong> on it, like flower pollen or fine sand. For the heavy metal fans among you: soot also works. Now make this powdered plate <strong>vibrate<\/strong> with, for example, a <strong>violin bow.<\/strong> The result is a <strong>graphic pattern:<\/strong> the <strong>wave phenomenon<\/strong>.
