This common ailment may at times get the better of even the most experienced musicians and usually occurs before a gig. Although alcohol helps loosen up those nerves in the face of courage, it is not always recommended for a flawless\u00a0performance. So perhaps you can fall back on Grandma\u2019s good advice and try Valerian root, but please mind the dosage \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>A good basic rule in preventing stage fright is thorough preparation and good time management. Having to pack five minutes before the tour bus leaves, makes for an unnecessary increase of stress levels. Regular practice also\u00a0often\u00a0builds\u00a0confidence\u00a0while removing self-doubt. Another tip in dealing with nervousness is to before a gig, briefly step aside and take a deep breath to focus on your abilities\u00a0and gather your strength.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thomann.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/7-schlamassel-auf-der-buehne.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-23580\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-23580\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thomann.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/7-schlamassel-auf-der-buehne-151x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"87\" height=\"170\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Forgetting Lyrics<br \/>\n<\/strong>This is one of those embarrassing moments that are usually highly noticeable, unless of course you\u2019re in a Death-Metal band. Blackouts can simply just happen, how you react to it however, is choice up to you. Whether you sing the wrong lines (and the crowd knows the lyrics word for word), or have a brief moment of silence, taking precautionary measures such as thorough preparation as stated in our first tip can prevent those speechless moments. Either a spare guitar or spare <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thomann.de\/gb\/strings.html\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>guitar strings<\/strong><\/a> prepared on stage would be a wise idea and while the singer distracts the audience, you\u2019ll be right back on it in no time.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thomann.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/7-schlamassel-auf-der-buehne-6.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-23594\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-23594\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thomann.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/7-schlamassel-auf-der-buehne-6-242x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"139\" height=\"211\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>You can\u2019t hear properly<br \/>\n<\/strong>It\u2019s a common phenomenon. You can\u2019t hear yourself and\/or your colleagues. This is a serious issue that speaks volumes. Here are a few simple tips for this situation: Tune in to your band mates, and find out who is too loud and why? If possible drown out the amplifiers individually to reveal the issue,\u00a0instead of turning them up all at once<\/p>\n<p>If the issue reveals itself to be a particular\u00a0amp, then simply position it higher or at a different angle for a better sound. For further assistance in better distribution and a more balanced sound we recommend a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thomann.de\/gb\/search_dir.html?bf=&amp;sw=Deeflexx\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Deeflexx<\/strong><\/a>. Someone may tangle up with the bassist, or accidently pull a plug from a socket. Either way conducting cables should not be underestimated, as this could very well lead to our next point. ..<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thomann.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/7-schlamassel-auf-der-buehne-4.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-23584\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft wp-image-23584\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thomann.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/7-schlamassel-auf-der-buehne-4-300x259.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"127\" height=\"106\" \/><\/a><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Kaboom!<br \/>\n<\/em><\/strong>Although it\u2019s not the end of the world, if you fall on stage or worse yet off the stage, you can severely bruise yourself and your ego. One way to prevent this is to keep\u00a0<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thomann.de\/gb\/thomann_v2020.htm\" target=\"_blank\">cable-ties<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>dear to your heart.\u00a0If this isn\u2019t available then stage-tape is a wonderful alternative and so is a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thomann.de\/gb\/wireless_dmx_-_funk_dmx.html\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>wireless system.<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Bad sound<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We could go on and on about this subject&#8230; First of all it\u2019s possible that the acoustic conditions of the venue are simply not very good. However there are several tricks to overcome this and improve your sound.<\/p>\n<p>A good sound is particularly a balanced sound. The aim is to hear all the instruments and vocals\u00a0properly\u00a0and to present each and every instrument in a well-balanced way to the audience. Take the time to thoroughly consult each other in finding that pleasant and balanced sound \u2013 and presumably before your gig! If your equipment does not sound good on stage, then even the best of mixers can\u2019t help you<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.thomann.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/7-schlamassel-auf-der-buehne-5.jpg\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-23586\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-23586\" src=\"https:\/\/www.thomann.de\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/7-schlamassel-auf-der-buehne-5-300x265.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"152\" height=\"140\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Another tip: A typical problem in small venues are loud cymbals which create\u00a0imbalance so extreme,\u00a0you can\u2019t even recognise the song. A quick remedy for this is to tape the cymbals with<a href=\"http:\/\/www.thomann.de\/gb\/search_dir.html?bf=&amp;sw=Stage-Tape\" target=\"_blank\"> <strong>stage-tape<\/strong><\/a> in order to dampen the high frequencies. However, we strongly recommended this for emergencies only. For a more professional and quieter solution, best\u00a0go with <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.thomann.de\/gb\/cympad.html\" target=\"_blank\">Cympads<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Last but not least:\u00a0Check your instruments to ensure you make your spectacular entrance in the right tone.
