Outdoor gigs<\/strong> pose special challenges<\/strong> for the PA system<\/strong>. The usual problem is that, in contrast to indoor concerts, it has to be significantly more powerful<\/strong>, especially since there is no real sound-reflecting room available. At the same time, it mustn’t reach too far<\/strong> at loud volumes to spare the nerves of residents, passers-by or people at the side stand: sound quality over volume. Below are some tips<\/strong> and product suggestions<\/strong> for your ideal\u00a0compact outdoor PA<\/strong>…<\/p>\n

#SoundsOfTheStreets<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

For the small to medium-sized event<\/strong>, there are now numerous speakers<\/strong> and small PAs<\/strong> that enable battery-powered<\/strong> mobile sound reinforcement. Musicians, entertainers and other protagonists can easily stage the – approved(!) – event at a city festival, in the pedestrian zone, the backyard party and other events. Thanks to battery-powered<\/strong> active components, many things have become simpler and cable-free<\/strong> in recent years. Because they are usually dismantled just as quickly<\/strong> as they are assembled, most users attach great importance to freedom from cables and low weight<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Battery-powered speakers and small PAs<\/h3>\n

1.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The LD Systems Road Buddy 10<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0is a battery-powered Bluetooth loudspeaker<\/strong> with integrated power amplifier<\/strong> and radio receiver<\/strong>. Ideal e.g. for entertainers or cabaret performers who require playback<\/strong>. Integrated are a media player<\/strong>, USB stick <\/strong>and an SD card<\/strong> for various audio formats. The system can be used as a stage monitor<\/strong>, practice amp<\/strong>\u00a0or primary PA system<\/strong>. With a maximum level of 103 dB<\/strong>, it can be used to provide sound to approximately 50 people<\/strong>. The small PA enables Bluetooth streaming with one-touch pairing<\/strong>. The special feature besides the extensive equipment: The rechargeable lithium-ion battery<\/strong> has a full running time of up to 11 hours<\/strong> and can be recharged very quickly.<\/p>\n

This is a battery-operated column PA<\/strong> including amplifier<\/strong> and integrated mixer<\/strong> that can be set up in the shortest possible time for concerts<\/strong>, conferences<\/strong> and more. This small\u00a0battery-operated<\/strong> PA has an 8″ subwoofer<\/strong>; tweeter<\/strong> and midrange drivers<\/strong> are built into the column. The power is 380 W<\/strong> at a maximum level of 118 dB<\/strong>. Audio streaming via Bluetooth<\/strong> is also possible. What more could you want?<\/p>\n

You can also enjoy cable-free operation<\/strong> with Samson’s Expedition Express Bluetooth speaker<\/strong><\/a>. Thanks to the built-in 3-channel mixer<\/strong> and tone control<\/strong>, it has the capabilities to also be used as a small PA<\/strong>. The advantage besides the integrated battery<\/strong>, which allows an operation of up to 20 hours<\/strong>: It is extremely inexpensive<\/strong>, so that both<\/strong> the right<\/strong> and left<\/strong> side of the stage\/setting can easily be equipped for a nice stereo sound image<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

At any time you can assemble the small PAs on both sides, so you can position one part on the right and one on the left. If the event gets bigger<\/strong>, that is quite appropriate. What could then be missing for the oppressive sound is a corresponding subwoofer<\/strong>, which should also be suitable for outdoor use:
\nSince June 2017<\/strong>, JBL has introduced the JBL SB2210<\/strong><\/a>, a subwoofer<\/strong> system for indoor and outdoor use<\/strong> that has quickly reached the top sales<\/strong> ranks in its department. The woofer is weatherproof<\/strong> to (IP45 approved<\/strong>) and can be driven into 8 ohms<\/strong> at a maximum level. It is equipped with 2 x 10″ speakers<\/strong>, which can also be addressed separately<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u261d\u00a0Do not forget ACCESSORIES<\/strong> when setting up outdoors!
\nYou can’t avoid the fact that the weather<\/strong> doesn’t always cooperate outdoors. Although some components are suitable for outdoor use (being waterproof) other are not. Often if the box is waterproof, the microphone is far from it. And you won’t want to play your expensive guitar in the rain<\/strong>.\u00a0\u26a1 You should therefore pay special attention to these useful accessories:<\/p>\n

6. <\/strong><\/p>\n
