Street musicians, street performers, buskers… call them what you want but it must be acknowledged that these are some of the hardest working musicians in the world. They don’t make much money but many practice their craft daily. There is some serious talent on our city streets, in fact there are internationally successful artists (The Violent Femmes and Ed Sheeran, just to name a couple) that were discovered while busking. Many are ultra talented but a bit too wacky for commercial success and that’s what we want to show you here today…<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Plastic Bucket Drummer<\/strong><\/h2>\n

This young man (Phil Bondy<\/strong>) plays on plastic buckets<\/strong> and 2 cymbals<\/a><\/strong> with incredible rhythm and speed. But what’s most impressive is the style and flare he puts into it. It makes you want to get a pair of\u00a0<\/strong>drumsticks<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and hit… well, anything, immediately.<\/p>\n

2. Voltak – Next-Level Beatboxer<\/strong><\/h2>\n

This guy makes sounds with his mouth<\/strong>, nasal cavity<\/strong> and throat<\/strong> that should not be possible. Using only a dynamic\u00a0mic<\/strong><\/a> and a battery-powered amp<\/strong><\/a> (with reverb) he creates some out-of-this-world electronic-inspired music. Have a listen…<\/p>\n

3. Too Many Zooz<\/strong><\/h2>\n

This guy has some serious moves<\/strong>… not to mention his baritone\u00a0saxophone<\/a> skills<\/strong>. Honourable mention goes to his amazing drummer\/percussionist<\/strong><\/a> who keeps things going, in style. Since this video went viral Too Many Zooz<\/strong><\/a> have made a YouTube channel<\/strong><\/a> and many impressive music videos…<\/p>\n

4. Beer Bottle Xylophone<\/strong><\/h2>\n

This man in Helsinki<\/strong> decided to turn his alcoholism in to something constructive. A construction of hanging beer bottles with different amounts of water in them, when struck sound kind of like a xylophone<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0or a glockenspiel<\/strong><\/a>. In fact, this could have well been the best way for him to quit the drink! #ThePowerOfMusic<\/strong><\/p>\n

This guy constructed a percussion triggered music machine made out of plastic plumbing pipes<\/strong> tied together with women’s underwear<\/strong>. And he uses flip-flops<\/strong> as mallets, of course! It’s incredible what kind of sounds he generates, it’s shocking that there is no computer involved…<\/p>\n

7. The Yelling Kitchen Prince<\/strong><\/h2>\n

If we’re talking wacky, this guy is it!! His name is Bram Graafland<\/strong>\u00a0and he puts on a one-of-a-kind performance using a mic<\/strong><\/a>, a\u00a0loop station<\/strong><\/a> and a vintage ’70s organ<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0that was turned into a portable kitchen<\/strong>! Say what?! He plays truly original music while\u00a0cooking a pancake<\/strong> for the audience. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you might even get hit by a flying metal bowl…<\/p>\n
