Our master of ceremonies, Jason Gervis, will introduce each individual event and welcome all of you to the first edition of Keys & Frequencies.

 

Cuckoo - Preparing Custom Sounds for Performance feat. Nordwave 2

Cuckoo will improvise live with the new Nordwave 2 and a new MIDI looper from Bastl. Making up weirdly catchy, positive energy melodies on the fly is what he loves the most. This will be followed by an open ended live Q&A with the Nordwave 2 as the topic. Take the opportunity to join in, ask questions or just hang out.

 

IK Multimedia - The infinite possibilities of the UNO Synth PRO

Modal Electronics - Modal synth in modern music production

James High will be explaining the basics and differences of the COBALT8 and ARGON8 synths, showing practical sound design tips for creating avant-garde sounds. Furthermore we’ll show how both synths flourish in combination with MPE controllers to enhance expressive performance capabilities.

 

Hainbach - Islands

Too much gear can be overwhelming – where to start? Hainbach, whose studio is filled with anything from toy pianos to nuclear research modular systems, found an answer with “Islands“. Islands are self-contained setups within the studio, enabling a constant flow of inspiration by simple moving from place to place. Everything can be connected to everything if necessary, but the point is to visit an island and see what happens. Hainbach invites us to visit his islands via livestream, performing pieces on each and answering your questions.

 

Nord - Performance and composing with the Nord Wave 2

Rekids founder Matt Edwards is a bona fide powerhouse of underground dance music. Over the course of more than fifteen years, the Berlin-based artist has established himself as a leading A&R, influential producer and esteemed DJ, all with his own unique and immediately recognisable style. In that time, Radio Slave has emerged as his most celebrated alias. For the Keys & Freqeuncies event, he’ll join us for a live-performance and walk us through his set-up and his process of arranging loops on the fly

 

Inhalt der Nacht

When we talk about the new techno generation of Berlin, then Christoph Heinze, aka Inhalt der Nacht, is definitely a key figure of it. The founder of the Lebendig collective and Revier Südöst Resident (formerly known as Griessmühle) is known for his EBM-infused Techno productions and setting new trends for up and coming producers. Having his roots in the ’80s-influenced New Wave, Christoph is also known for his multifaceted musical skills. As part of the Keys & Frequencies Online Event he will present his experimental live setup with which he has performed 2019 in Cuba as part of an interdisciplinary art project.

Mathew Jonson

Mathew Jonson really is one of a kind. He’s developed one of the most distinctive voices in electronic dance music: when you hear one of Jonson’s tracks, you almost immediately know it’s his. And yet there’s no mistaking any given track for another. 

 

Rebekah

Birmingham-born and Berlin-based DJ, Producer, Live Act, and label owner Rebekah is known for her hard-driven industrial techno sets and belongs undoubtedly to one of the most exciting artists out there. Her relentlessly heavy sound winning her titles such as DJ Mag’s Best Producer in 2018 or her highly successful live set in late 2018 was named by Resident Advisor as one of the best performances of ADE 2018, followed by key performance at Awakenings, Exit Festival and more. At our Keys & Frequencies Online Event, she will showcase her recent modular setup with a live jam session and giving in-depth insights of her technical and musical approach.
