Very sound, solid instrument. Recommended!

Kellermeister, 18.06.2010
The WELTMEISTER TOPAS 37/96 / IV is a very solid instrument. The keyboard is light weight, the handling is good. Size and weight must be accustomed, of course, to the use of smaller instruments.

The sound is really outstanding, a very nice, powerful, balanced sound in the treble. In the bass also very balanced, powerful and deep, no disturbing resonances. Certain bass constellations may have slight repercussions on the treble range at higher volumes (there may be a slight tremolo, then it sounds like an amplifier at the overdrive limit), but musically this is not disturbing. The sounds are very well tuned and stable at all volumes, there is absolutely nothing to complain about.

The direct comparison I have to a smaller, older Weltmeister accordion as well as to a Hohner Concerto III T. In this comparison, the sound of the world champion Topas is absolutely outstanding. Especially with the Hohner concerto its treble was to my taste much too overtone (with too weak and not even cleanly tuned fundamental) and the bass sounded with the Hohner rather as from a Kofferadio. But it is already clear to me that these are not comparable instrument classes; The Topas is simply much bigger and more elaborate.

Very positive is that the matching accordion case, bellows and neat strap. In the meantime, this is no longer the standard for all manufacturers.

If I were again before the choice, I would already buy from the sound quite clearly again a world champion accordion, I would as a hobby player but maybe even a number smaller try, which might have given me synonymous.
