Should one say "World Champion"?
On my Bugari Converter the buckle protector attached both to the strap and the additionally mounted transverse belts. The length is optimal. If you put the protection over the buckles in the middle, then you have left and right each 2 cm overhang - thus completely sufficient. Since the buckle protection is slightly widened on one side (see figure), it can also be optimally positioned on the spread upper side of the accordion strap without moving away from the intended position. With nearly daily playing I have so far slipped the slip protection. Therefore top marks!
What you have to mention, of course, is that the buckle protector can slip naturally if you wear the buckle protection while wearing / moving. Due to the pulling movement, it is only logical that the protection moves along.
Of course it must be reckoned that times the buckle penetrates into the tissue and times a loop pulls out of the fabric if you forgot before the buckle correctly. But this can not be charged to the product. Fabric will always pull the shorter metal against metal. If the buckle has sharp edges, then be careful when putting on, otherwise you could weaken the buckle protection.
Here is a small tip: If you use a very fine nail file to edit the sharp-edged areas of the buckles, then you can extend the lifetime of the sleeves without removing the chrome or nickel layer of the buckles. But also here, cautiously proceed. After all, you do not want the buckle to corrode.
