I have bought these bars to be able to realize a little bit of colorful light without much effort - independent of annoying cables.

The devices make a solid impression and are well processed, only the included IR remote makes a cheap impression. Here, one should be careful with the insertion of the two head cells, since obviously no polarity protection is present and it smells in the wrong direction suddenly after current.

Compared to the other Varytec headlights, the battery life per battery is quite short. With one battery and 2 fully activated colors (r0, g255, b255, w0), a battery just holds 1:25 (for comparison Bat.Par6 RGBWA 2:30 and Bat.Par6 RGBUV 3:20, the last is also significantly darker ). Irritating I find that with a device which can record 4 batteries, according to instructions only max. 2 can be loaded simultaneously.

The external "notebook" power supply is a compromise: it allows a compact and fanless (!) Headlight and makes space for 4 battery packs, but can be annoying if you want to operate the bar on the net. But I can definitely live with it - the goal was finally to work wirelessly.

The brightness for such a small battery bar is already neat, but the color mixture leaves a lot to be desired, especially if the bar is vertically lit on a wall. But also when illuminating an area from a larger distance, one gets for example in yellow in the one axis at the edge a course to green and in the other axis to red. However, in view of the low price but still acceptable.

The built-in programs and the sound-to-light functionality I think is not practical and also look quite similar. So there is a slow ColorFade, but the program always ends with 5 bright white flashes - for discreet decoration lighting not to use. There is also little choice in sound-to-light: either all LEDs light up briefly at peak levels, or programs are triggered, which only allow a connection to the sound.

A DMX control is therefore nearly obligatory, whereby one again must pull cables, which I actually wanted to avoid. Therefore, I will probably invest in a few radio DMX modules.

CONCLUSION: Basically, the idea of ??the battery bar was good and also very cost-effective implemented, without saving on the production quality. It is not a completely successful product but it is not, as one has unfortunately neglected some details in the development.

And finally I found my happiness in LED by battery.
Not wanting to invest on versions with 400 ¤, I find this varitec BAT BAR 8 in good value for money.
A bundle version exists at 195¤ with 4 batteries and an autonomy of 8H20, relatively sufficient for my utility.
ATTENTION the versions in 3 or 6 led of the same mark lasts only 6h20 maxi.

The colors programmed are beautiful is sufficient (there are 50). The remote control included is an advantage and if necessary if you want to gain autonomy you can lower the intensity.
Or it is very simple to turn off the LEDs during the evening with the remote control (when broadcasting a video, a game or other ...

If the batteries become less efficient over time, all you have to do is buy only replaceable batteries. Hoping that the brand is a long life ahead of it.

So for a budget at 195¤ for a PAR LED on battery I recommend it. I can finally buy a lot is time saving in installing my bright decoration. All I have to do is find the right transport bag.
