Converted me into a tron-hound

After buying a hand-built cabronita from a French builder, I became so enamored with the sound of its single bridge pickup I decided to build my own one. Ordered this puppy for my build and couldn't love it more. Workmanship is excellent, sound is bright and clear and very responsive to dynamics. It holds the middle ground between a traditional (tele) single coil and a humbucker, and boy does it shine, either for the quiet/sensitive solo stuff or for playing in my (very loud) surf punk band -- you will not get lost in the mix with this one.
Pros: super quality and sound.
Cons: are you kidding me?

Toller Sound, aber...

Der Pickup klingt sehr eigen, glasig wie ein Singlecoil, rund und warm wie ein Humbucker, eigentlich mit nix zu vergleichen. Ein süchtig machender Sound. Von der Seite gibt's nichts zu meckern.
Aber die Befestigung mit den Schrauben, die durch das Gehäuse führen ("no ears mount") ist m.E. eine Fehlkonstruktion.

1. könnten die Schrauben länger sein, wenn eine Moosgummiunterlage unter dem PU ist. Dann kann es nämlich vorkommen, dass die Schrauben nicht den Boden der Fräsung erreichen.

2. Das größte Manko aber ist, dass die Schraube auf der Treble-Seite gefährlich nah an der internen Verkabelung des Pickups vorbeiführt. Mir ist es passiert, dass eins dieser dünnen Kabel durch das Gewinde der Schraube gekappt wurde. Abhilfe würde hier eine Schraube schaffen, die das Gewinde nur im unteren Bereich hätte.

Asensin tämän kyseisen mikin Cabronitaan ainoaksi mikiksi tallapositioon.
Kysrinen mikki yhdessä CTS, tai vastaavienmpotentiometrien kanssa takaa todella monipuoliset sointivaihtoehdot, etenkin täysputkivahvistimien kautta soitettaessa. Loistava mikki, täyttä tavaraa. Mikäli etsit Gretsch -soundia esim. Cabronitaan tämä on enemmän kuin paikallaan. Toimii niin cleaneissä kuin säröissä.
