This instrument is a good compromise between quality and price but some improvements have to be made.
PROS: -Nice look, nice finish -Interesting price for an uncommon instrument
CONS: -Bad quality strings that rapidly have to be changed (appropriate guitar strings can be used) -The brigde should be glued; its moves fastly out-tune the instrument -Tuners are cheap-craft; however with the two previous improvements it keeps the tune quite well though it's a little tricky to set it precisely -The gloss is nice but too thick and it smothers part of the sound
CONCLUSION: An accessible instrument that with a few easy improvements is a good compromise for a beginner or a part-time user However, if you're looking for a good instrument (eg you're a good player) you definitely should choose another one.

Very beautiful part!
I am not a professional and I bought this beautiful balalaika primarily out of curiosity, since I had never had a Dreisaiter in the hand. I do not use them at the moment, but I intend to make more use of them in the future.
The first thing I did was replace the strings as they were supplied with 3 steel strings. I have replaced them with the recommended 2x nylon, 1x silver combination for the 2 lower and the upper string in the standard tuning (E 'E' A '). The sound of the exchange was quite easy, and the sound is now as expected.
The stability was good after initial tests.
The processing quality I like very much, all tipp-topp. I have nothing to complain about.
