It's a lamp for your turntable. That's all there is to it
Nothing unexpected. Installation is easy if you are familiar with soldering. Not difficult at all. It works just fine. My original lamp was broken to begin with so I can't really compare the performance. Built quality feels very cheap and fragile but I don't think that's an issue cause it is really protected inside the turntable housing and it doesn't affect performance in any way.
Only con I could find is the price quality ratio. It's a very old piece of equipment, technology wise, and I feel like it should be way cheaper at this time and age. Build quality makes this feeling even stronger.
I know you could go for a blue led, or "funky" violet led or something but those are for chumps. This is the original technics lamp for the original design. Why meddle with a classic. Ok if you'd buy a led lamp you probably wouldn't have to change the lamp ever again, so there's that. I still wouldn't go for a colored one, and these are the originals so you're sticking with the classics. On second thought a led would be a good choice, but just don't get a colored one. Also I don't think leds are available from major retail stores so if you're in a hurry you'll probably get these, as did I.
