Great Guitar

22.01.2016
This guitar is effortless to play! The sound is so full and rich while still having the brights. I use this guitar during my live shows. Very handy. Excellent value.

Takamine P3DC

Michael5062, 12.12.2013
So, after 6 years with my Yamaha LLX6 (also mentioned a super guitar in their price class, also bought at Thomann) finally had something new. For a long time I thought about the guitar. Minimum requirement: Cutaway; Dreadnought; Solid wood; Great design with little blingbling - I prefer it simple, good sound, easy playability. Price class: between 1000 and a maximum of 2000 euros. After intensive research left various models of the following brands: Cole Clark, Guild, Martin, Lakewood and Takamine. I was amazed that the few guitars in the price class up to 2000 euros are full-mass - the only really full masses were from Guild, Lakewood, Cole Clark and Martin. Takamine guitars are only full from over 2000 euros. The ideal way would have been to go to Treppendorf and play the different models. I was not able to do this for professional reasons this year but unfortunately. But I just could not wait. So I just ordered the Takamine online, 30 days Moneyback guarantee is thanks. But as it turned out, I will not have to make use of the guarantee.
The only question is, why did I decide for the P3DC and not for one of the other guitars, although this guitar is not full-mass, which would have been a must for me? I only started playing the guitar at the age of 28. Now I am 35 years and would describe myself as an ambitious advanced, but a rock star I will surely no longer ;-) I have then simply and poignantly but not seen, for large names and massive wood far more than 1500 euros to spend. Especially since I do not believe that massive frames would make such a large, audible difference on the sound. The Takamine is an honest instrument and I like it in its simplicity, no superfluous blingbling, no excessive decorations, no gimmicks. Just a simple beauty, I like that very much. And I think that with a Takamine in the price class more than 1000 euros can not make much wrong, at least not as a hobby musician, as I am one. The guitar sounds much clearer and more metallic compared to my Yamaha LLX6. It has more treble and more bass and is much louder. I find the sound very nice and can not imagine that a more expensive guitar for my ears would have sounded much better. It is easy to play and is super-processed. The only drawback with my model was the jetty. This has left and right a dot of mother-of-pearl, the upper dot, the left, is not my model is neatly incorporated, it stands out somewhat and is also not perfectly rounded, like the other Dot, which also plan in the bridge Is incorporated. That would not be so bad, if it was not the Dot, which is directly in my field of view. I am so disturbed, I am a pedant. And the rosewood bridge itself has a dark spot on the right side. I hope that this place fades with time, or that it can be polished out. Perhaps the whine is on a high level, but I already find that with a 1200 euro instrument a perfect processing should be self-evident, just a traditional company like Takamine is one. Otherwise, the guitar is top. And finally, great praise to the dispatch department of Thomann: Thursday evening ordered, Saturday the guitar was already there. Incredible.

Conclusion: Purchase recommendation.
