The end of a search
Many guitarists know about it - the search for the right sound. Of course, depends on a variety of components - but the choice of the pickup can affect a lot.
The Alnico II Pro was originally a tip from a forum on SRV sound. I wanted to know better, of course, and spent money on all kinds of subjects. The search eventually led me back to the pickup. It helps my Deluxe Strat to a correspondingly balanced sound, without Hochmitt peak, but still enough brilliance. I can not hear (yet) badly and maybe that's why it bothers me a lot, that many pickups are designed to produce a high peak, but no heights (at the same time sound harsh and covered / dull). This is not the case here - the upper registers remain discreetly pleasant and balanced, and do not hurt when the attack is hard. The bass is full and powerful, without the E-string drowning the rest, or the wire loss. Depending on how you play it comes wiry or whimsical bluesy.
Pleasantly, it sounds pretty much what I like (not just Bluesrock) exactly as it should, so Strattypical material from eg Hank Marvin and Ricky Martin over Hendrix and Vaughan to Clapton and Knopfler.
I play my Deluxe Strat over a Twin Reverb or 57er Bassman with different kickers. From the Alnico II Pro (neck position) there is a Leosounds Redhouse (center) and a Little-59 (bridge) in Strat.
For me the search here has an end. I can only recommend the pickup - someone who, as I am disappointed by various aftermarket buyers, is looking for an honest stratagem, but is not willing to spend the money on antiques or more expensive - imho could be satisfied with it.
