I'm currently using this unit on a large arena tour on a recommendation of a fellow FOH engineer. The PA sounds "small" without it. Even in circuit with no gain reduction, it sounds like a different PA. Extra depth and a sense of being closer. Dialling in the gain reduction adds pure glue. As soon as you've hit the magic spot, you know! The sound of depth, width and imaging are massively increased.
Only wish I'd tried this unit years ago. It would have solved a whole load of issues.
Built like a tank. Pure quality. It tends to get a bit warm so needs 1U above free. I imagine those hand-wound, chunky transformers provide the heat.

The processing is valuable, the optics pleases, all potentiators and switches feel good.
Level indicator and switch are easy to read.
If one is familiar with control amplifiers, one gets very fast results.

If I had personally wanted for the SFE alone a separate gain. With plus values ??Depht / Widht I come with the level to the A / B comparison not further down.
Gain without COMP is zero and by plus changes Depht / Widht one has of course
1-2 db more level.
Is ultimately no problem and probably the SFE would be influenced by an additional circuit.

The price is okay and justified me.
