Desired concert

AS, 06.12.2011
Objectives / Requirements:

* Mobile amplifier for music on the go (miniplayer, laptop) - Ghetto truck replacement
* Portable guitar amplifier
* Mobile microphone amplifier
* Battery / battery operation possible
* Network operation possible
* good sound
* Handy
* Solid
* Easy (sound, however, priority, because in the case of sound generation, weight is physically dependent)

Market situation:

There is a small range of battery amplifiers (also with power supply) which are relatively mobile, that is to say with goodwill in the bag or suitcase. When searching (problem not all are available at every dealer, Vox u Roland div tests available), the following findings were obtained:

-> VOX MINI 3: sound good (also mp3), amazingly loud / powerful for 3 watts, guitar effects ample u good (really all in one), dice format awkward, size but (still OK), approx

-> ROLAND MICRO CUBE: comparable Vox (own sound test not possible, nowhere in stock)
-> LINE6 MICROSPIDER: comparable Vox (own sound test not possible)
+ Microphone input
- 6 BABY cells instead of Mignon

-> to HARLEY BENTON CG-10X STREET, Marshall MG2FX, I can not say anything, the Marshall MS-2 (useless small) etc. do not meet the above requirements.

-> ORANGE MICRO-CRUSH PIX STEREO:
+ Nice small, handy, light, cheap, funny look (like Omas tube radio o as orange amp)
- Sound guitar only gain and tone (not even clean clean) -> result boring, compared with 6 watts not twice as strong as VOX
- Sound AUX miserably dull (for me KO, because wg charm of the box u price would be guitar sound still tolerable, if also no comparison with VOX)
- 2 x 9V block

-> ROLAND MOBILE CUBE: as also nowhere in stock u delivery delays (ordered wg Fukushima) finally ordered to view here - delivery immediately! At first sight / handle was somehow clear, the thing I give no more:
+ Haptically high-quality, solid, no toys (no comparison to all the laptop boxes, portable radios etc.)
+ Approx. 1 kg lighter than VOX & Co
+ Approx. DinA4 and wide as gripping hand (much smaller than VOX & Co.)
+ 2 x 2.5 watt stereo, sound all connections very good and loud, nice Hall, maybe a bit flatter than the VOX with plywood housing, but for format amazing
+ AUX sound good, connection Miniklinke or cinch (volume only via feeder, in practice no problem), loud in comparison to and active boxes (laptop times times down)
+ 1 instrument + Micro + AUX possible
+ Center Cancel (karaoke / solo function) very funny, but does not work with all songs
+ Threaded mount for microphone stand
+ Low consumption, 15h battery / recharge time (approx.) With 6 x Mignon
- + Gitrarre only A-Git, Clean, Overdrive u Dist + Chorus, Delay, Reverb
- + No power supply, but use standard Roland / Boss power supply.
- No output to mixer / recording device (only via headphone output)
- light ground noise (switches off after a short moment or noisegate, if no signal, can look at filming initially funny, but abs tolerable)
- Roland emblem in grille sometimes vibrates with noise => underlay o remove!

Conclusion:

A real show-off! If you're not just looking for E-Git effects and you need the "all-in-one", the MOBILE CUBE is the music fun center. The ratio of size / weight / power consumption and sound is very surprising, but the sound also looks very neat.
Probably currently the best ghetto truck (for those who do not have to be noticed by size) and MiniPA.
Since Roland has really thought and developed well. A bit more expensive than the alternatives (compared to orange almost 100%) but worth it.

Roland Mobile Cube, the little black for all f ...

varisol1, 16.10.2009
I've been looking for a practice amp that sounds light, small, battery driven, flexible and, above all, reasonable. I found the Roland Mobile Cube after some Internet search. The is in terms of versatility as a battery-driven "street music amp" not to be topped.

MP 3 player and electric guitar, the appropriate sound is selected at the sound button, and the exercise session starts. WOH, the sound from such a small sound box is really convincing, nothing to be heard of the quirky, scratchy practice song of the usual kind. Also, I have searched for a battery amp, with which I mean something too quiet APX "acoustically" get a bit louder.

Also this guitar plugged, sound selection "Acoustic Guitar", Chorus pure, something Hall and los gehts. With the easy support of the Roland Mobile Cube, my acoustic guitar is now beautiful to listen to without strumming on the strings, so I am against a jumbo of the band colleague. Excellent! I am absolutely thrilled by the Roland Mobile Cube. Of course you can not expect the huge volume, but the support for "plug-in" gigs the ideal partner.
