could be better.....could be worse....
....for the money though im pretty happy with it. always found it to be rather bass heavy when running through a 4x12....to the point where the bass knob was almost below 1 and the treble up way past 6 in order for it to cut through in rehearsal/gigging situations. i've since downsized to a 2x12....and it sounds way better in my opinion! and still more than loud enough!!! :-)
clean channel...well....not that clean really....(but i tend to keep the boost switch on, so maybe thats why?) either way...i quite like the breaking up, slightly driven sound that comes from it...so you know...not really a problem.
its been used for gigging and rehearsals now for around 18 months and its still looking and sounding pretty good. my current band plays a mix of rock, metal, punk, and some songs that might be considered pop...it manages them all....
my main guitar is a peavey wolfgang going in to a dunlop wah then into the amp, with a boss GT10 in the amps effects loop for delays, boosts etc... also use the amp channel control on the boss which is great, but means the boost is always on (as already mentioned) as its a mono lead going into a stereo socket....but that doesnt bother me....(i could probably do a fix if i wanted to mind) its a nice little set up which does pretty much everything i need it to. the main thing is the amp is providing all the basic tones and sounds and thats the important bit for me. great little package and would definitely say its worth checking one out. i bought mine on a bit of a whim when looking for something more portable than the 100watt head i was using....(having not tested one myself!!)....but i havent regretted it :-P
i was also sceptical ordering on line, but thomann were fantastic, especially when i had to return the head within the first 4 weeks! ( im on my second. first one developed a fault but was returned and replaced at no cost to myself!) ....oh....and dont let that last bit put you off...the replacement hasnt put a foot wrong :-)
nice amp. nice company. two thumbs good

Good little amp

18.02.2016
Randall isn't as well known in Europe as is Orange, Engl or Peavey, but they really make great amps. Especially for metal Randall delivers! This RD45 amp is a great little amp and a good price for what you get. The normal channel has a good bright sound even warm. The distorted channel can go from rock to brutal metal.
