Radial Engineering Re-Amp Kit- Reamping Kit

Radial Re-Amp KitIncludes the following devices:

X-Amp with power supplyTransport your guitar tracks into a new dimension with a real amplifier sound! The X-Amp is a completely discreet, active Class A re-amp, which allows you to feed a previously recorded, dry signal to two guitar amplifiers, thus changing their sound, adding tracks, or "broadening" their mix in additional recording steps. With decoupled transducers, the X-Amp eliminates the need for mass loops and allows an active volume controller to operate at the ideal level - without changing the sound.

J48 active DI boxThe most advanced DI box with phantom power. One of the most important features of the J48 radial is the internal 9-volt signal routing with a unique digital switching power supply, which gives it a three times larger headroom compared to conventional active DI boxes. Additional headroom reduces the distortions, increases the dynamic range and guarantees a natural, unadulterated sound. The J48 has an 80 Hz bass filter, switchable input attenuation, stereo-to-mono mixing, 180 ° phase reversal and mass separation. Ideal for acoustic guitar and bass.

Why only three stars for sound quality

18.06.2015
I bought this to try re-amping into a Marshall 2555 Silver Jubilee head. My output is from a RME FireFace 800 (balanced output, of course).

The actual sound was fine but it was plagued by random clicking. No this wasn't because my WordClock wasn't locked or anything like that.

I first looked at the awful power supply which wasn't at all consistent with the build quality of the other two boxes. To cut a long story short, I ended up building my own PSU as I often do with gear like this.

Despite a massive improvement, I was still getting random clicks and I have subsequently resigned myself to using this with my old Roland JC-120 which I use for clean sounds and will not be re-amping into any of my high-gain amps.

Such a shame as I was very hopeful about this system.

Great opportunities!

Christian057, 17.10.2009
I have read a report on Reamping in a trade journal. This also called the two devices from Radial, which I then specifically informed. Long speech, short meaning, I have with the two devices then the reamping once tried, after I had previously my guitar over a normal 08/15 DI ??attached to my sound card, and then the sound on the line out on the sound card on the amp Sent The difference to these devices is really remarkable!

In addition, I have now with the possibilities that the Reamping offers, at any time drauflos record, whenever I am afterwards. If then the daytime despite soundproofed cellar space does not fit completely to a torn Marshall / Vox / Peavey / Epiphone amplifier, one can still make up the next day without problems. Then you can build up the microphones and the phase position. That sounds then at all events worlds better than my modeling software and hardware, even if the at night recording sessions provide a good monitoring system.

But it is nothing at all about the recordings, which were a good amplifier in a well-sounded room with carefully set up microphones.

Also multi-exposure is possible with the devices, so you can mix two complementary sounds. In addition, you can then record several amps successively with the same signal and then record sound. All in all, this has raised my guitar recordings to a new level! 5 of 5 Stars!
