I was skeptical at first ...
fishfingers, 13.04.2019
I already have some Gibsons and Epiphones, an Ibanez and guitars div.Learn known brands.

Somehow it was time for a PRS and I was looking for a 1st affordable 2nd interesting / more unusual option. I staggered between this and the Schizoid King Crimson.

The SE Standard 24 Multifoil is in many respects a "first for me: PRS, tremolo and surface-coating-not-burst-or-solidcolor.

My concern (as visually quite stimulated player, but also because of the surface condition eg on the neck) was above all the uncertainty regarding multi "Foil", but NOT - as well as in various reviews falsely stated - a foil BEKLEBUNG the guitar. It is a multicoat paint system in different colors where a film (a plastic bag ...) is used to create the pattern by pressing it on the current paint layer (and then removing it again) so that the paint blasts are achieved , Cool, right?

There is a video on the PRS homepage (no idea if this link is allowed, otherwise you search for "prs multifoil se standard how made" on the internet): https://www.prsguitars.com/index.php/blog / post / how_its_made_multi_foil_finish

Sonically, the PRS can definitely keep up with the Gibsons and Epiphones in the same price segment or is even more for me. Although I am still incompetent in meaningful Tremolo use, apart from that (almost unexpectedly) good playability, sound is round, who likes it also has coil splitting, in addition 24 frets and pretty bird inlays. The processing is great, even if it is an SE.

The included gig bag is the best I've ever had, very solid; a suitcase is really not to be expected for the price.

Thus: the total package is absolutely right here. No wonder that the first momentum was sold out soon ;-) For the current Thomann Prize (500) I find this standard a great offer, I'm glad I decided to do so.

An original finish and a qualit qualit price ratio
Logistix, 27.04.2019
At the opening of the package, the guitar is well packaged and comes in a gigbag well padded, good surprise. Once open, we find the famous PRS, the multifoil finish is really bluffing, much more than the photos, and the process of creating this finish guaranteed that each PRS multifoil will be substantially unique.

The profile of the wide fine handle allows comfort, good grip and speed, without ending up with a flat mache type Ibanez.
The touch is quite dry, and would require to apply lemon oil. The incrustations birds are the most beautiful effect. However my touch has a small scratch.
The frets are very well finished and very comfortable.

Level sounds 85/15 S pickups are very versatile (especially with the coil-split very convaiquant), and really allow to be heard over a backing track, for example. Since it is a 24 frets, the neck pickup is closer to the bridge pickup for a 22 frets, the neck pickup sounds a little more acute and less round than that of a Gibson for example.

At first I had a hard time keeping the chord, especially with vibrato. I lubricated with graphite the saddle (which seems plastic and which is not regularly cut, there is a defect in the notch of the rope of Si), stretched the strings (those of origins are not really not top, my rope Sol was pre-folded at one place). I think a change of the nut can be a good improvement especially if frequent use of vibrato.

Despite the small defects that are correctable at low prices, this guitar is really bluffing and versatile, I recommend, especially at this price!
