Have been with Presonus and Homerecording my positive experiences. Had so far an 8 channel Presonus Firepod in the employment. Since I wanted to buy a new console, it should be a digital console. Well that I had still hesitated, appropriately the price was reduced from 1.298 to 1.111, -. Ok, now it should be.

In short. I am thrilled with the console. Brings a super sound over. The processing of the console is very high quality. On the other hand, my old Yamahapult looks like a plastic toy.
The possibilities with the desk are gigantic. Above all the possibility to perform a soundcheck without the beretis all the musicians on the stage are, I find really great. So far, I have never been able to listen to the whole set before the stage, since I either played myself, or even the sound has popped.

Super I also find the existing presets for the Fatchannel, which are already a very good basis for the mix. The included software is tailor-made for the console. Proberaummitschnitte falls with Capture already almost studiolike. After recording simply routed back and you can hear it over the PA immediately.

The operation of the desk is actually quite simple. Of course you should read the manual. If you understand the concept provides the operation no problem there.

I do not mind the small Presonus also that there are no subgroups. We had not so far, so is not missed

If you're looking for a great console for gig and studio is the Presonus best served.

Have the desk now for a month and am now quite well worked in.

Initially, although I have an absolutely new laptop, it has me also caught and then still problems with the Firewire connection.

Connection breaks to the laptop were the result.
An external Firewirecard an Ultron, but there immediately provided for remedy.
Was there already much annoying and I really gray hair has tasted, was the phenomenon that when mixing a song to Wav with 44.1 khz and 16 bit, which is necessary for the burning of a CD, the intonation it songs was always too low . All settings, ie in the Virtuel Control software, as well as in the individual projects was set to 44.1 khz and 24 bit as usual.

Have tried everything and nothing could stop this phenomenon. After a test with the Cubase software has occurred, was actually clear, is not the Studio one software, which is genuinely genial, but must be related to the console.
Property then times in Virtuel Control software the khz to 48 and the individual songs then with 48 khz and 24 bit recorded. And lo and behold. Now it also works with the mixdown and the correct conversion to 44.1 and 16 bit.

The desk is said to work internally always with 48 khz. If you set the console to 41.1 khz, and also the songs in Studio one during a recording as well, the mixdown did not work properly.
It is important that the settings in the recording software, no matter what, are set to 48.1 khz.

Despite these problems, I am thrilled by the console, as well as in studio use as well as in live use.

Is definitely the best desk I have so far (is my 4th desk).

What you like: versatile, rear-panel connectors and faders make a very solid impression, almost all buttons are illuminated, many good features (talkback function, level adjustment of the outputs via a small potentiometer etc.), computer connection via Firewire and of course also MIDI.
Well processed (no light weight!) And if the inconsistencies mentioned below do not disturb much, the price is more than okay -
The few competing products cost twice as much and more!

What does not like: tiny monochrome display - it is shown too little and you often have to press keys or change pages to see "more".
The parameter potentiometer is quite small, not rasterized and has a somewhat strange response (frequent turning back and forth in the search for a certain value occurs again and again).
Dynamics & EQ: Gate and HPF are absolutely minimalistic and can be set with only one "controller". The Compressor provides the usual parameters, but does not show what it does (eg Gain-Reduction). However, you can switch to the display mode with a key during the setting process - it looks the corresponding "effect", but has to switch back to the next setting. Well, maybe it's who's good.
The 3-band quasi-parametric EQ is comparatively easy to operate, although the extremely delicate scale labeling (already with normal lighting!) Requires a real eagle eye.
The two effect processors: unfortunately, too few (ie 2-3) adjustable parameters - and even these are only very cumbersome to change. The presets represent only the most necessary and in truly modest quality.
After some corrections, the effects (reverb and delays) seem to be more useful, but these "processors" still do not convince me, be they 32-bit or whatever!

I can argue about the sound, I personally is clearly too good. In any case, however, there is no doubt that noise or hum in this mixer are not an issue!

Since the firmware should be updateable, the manufacturer could at least eliminate a few flaws and make some improvements - the hope dies last.

PS. Since the bottom of the mixer gets quite hot during operation, one should ensure "ground clearance" - so do not necessarily use in the mixercase, on sofas, blankets or foam pads!
